Indigenous Education
Monague Arts, Crafts & Supply is a proudly Indigenous-owned and operated enterprise rooted in the heritage, knowledge systems, and cultural values of the Bodwewadami-Ojibwe Anishinaabe Peoples of Beausoleil First Nation. Based in Midland, Ontario, we are dedicated to advancing Anishinaabe language revitalization, arts, and cultural education through both community-based programming and professional partnerships. Our work is driven by the belief that the restoration of Indigenous languages, governance systems, and lifeways is central to healing, resurgence, and justice for our people.
Our mission is to contribute meaningfully to the process of Reconciliation by repairing historic harms and ensuring Indigenous inclusion, representation, and leadership across all sectors of society. We support both Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations in building capacity, strengthening relationships, and creating culturally grounded spaces that honour Indigenous Peoples as original stewards of these lands. Through an array of services—including strategic advisory work, cultural training, reconciliation planning, and public education—we aim to shift narratives, advance equity, and foster long-term systemic change.
Our work is grounded in Anishinaabe worldview, with a strong emphasis on language, land-based education, and holistic approaches to learning and relationship-building. We design and deliver professional development programs that explore Indigenous culture, Anishinaabemowin, history, arts, recreation, and social justice, with the goal of deepening understanding and creating bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. These offerings are tailored to reflect the specific needs and goals of the organizations we support—whether in the public, private, education, or non-profit sector.
We believe that authentic reconciliation cannot occur without truth, education, and cultural literacy. This includes recognizing the impacts of colonialism and systemic exclusion, while also uplifting Indigenous knowledge, innovation, and self-determination. By working collaboratively with communities and organizations, we help to embed Indigenous principles of respect, relationality, and responsibility into everyday practices and policies.
Our services are primarily delivered across Simcoe County and surrounding regions, though our reach and relationships extend well beyond. We remain guided by the values of integrity, accountability, and cultural sovereignty in all that we do, and we are committed to walking alongside others on the path toward a more just and inclusive future for all.
